Happy New Year, we are now in 2026.
Looking back at 2025 we did our first team! Which we enjoyed it and felt we really built up and improved our players.
However I feel this can be extremely risky to players due to the current layout of local football.
I have my ideas how to run a team/teams inside a local comp but it also requires more things and support that I do not currently have access to.
Plus it puts the club in an awkward spot with one team seeming different.

As such I've had to put a pin in that idea.

However I'm still wanting to do something to keep working with players so with 2026 I'm changing what Project Black Sash is.
This year the Black Sash Program will be a player tutoring program.
In an effort to keep helping players RISE to their potential and push themselves I'll be incorporating some of the tools and tricks I've developed over the 15 years of coaching I've done to support their weekend team play by doing 1on1 sessions, giving homework, building their ability to set goals and improve their confidence and self talk.
The program will have gear included and gives players access to me all throughout the season.
